Tom's Home Built 35mm Lens Adapter

The purpose of an lens adapter is to be able to use 35mm film lenses on a video camera.
This gives a greater artistic freedom to create astonishing imagery.
One being narrow field-of-depth images to bring out the subject better from the background.

I machined a holder for a focusing screen in aluminium.

The focusing screen is screwed in place with plastic holders.

Spring mounting and screws allows adjustment of the focal plane.

The focusing screen is flexibly suspended to the plastic base to enable it to vibrate freely.

The screen and base is mounted to an extension ring with a Canon lens mount.

The whole assembly is mounted to a rail system attached to the video camera.
